Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the basic elements of music theory, notation, and aural skills. Students will develop fluency in reading and writing music, understanding rhythm, scales, intervals, triads, and basic harmonic principles. Additionally, students will enhance their sight-singing, rhythmic reading, and ear-training skills. The course is designed for students with limited formal background in music and serves as a preparatory course for MUS 114 Music Theory I and MUS 115 Musicianship Lab I.
