This course examines key literary voices of seventeenth-century Britain—Milton, Donne, Herbert, and others—set against the backdrop of political upheaval, religious reform, and evolving Christian thought. Students will explore how poetry and prose reflect and respond to themes of divine authority, personal faith, and historical change.
