Degree Requirements

Completion requirement
Complete ALL of the following Courses:

MUS 080-088 - Private Instruction (8 units)

MUS 460-468 - Private Instruction (8 units)

  • Students must complete a total of sixteen (16) units of Private instruction on the same instrument or voice.

  • Students must satisfy the Applied Music Proficiency requirements to enroll in upper-division applied study. They will typically complete this proficiency jury at the end of the fourth semester of applied study. Students will remain in the lower-division applied study until they successfully complete the proficiency jury.

course is a prerequisite for MUS 114 and MUS 115. Students must either successfully pass the theory entrance exam or complete MUS 050.

  • Students with voice as a primary instrument must take course Diction for Singers and course Diction for Singers II.

  • Students with piano as a primary instrument must take 2 units of course or course Private Instruction: Accompanying.
